There is sunshine in my soul today
More glorious and bright...

We'll sing in the sunshine,
We'll laugh every day
We'll sing in the sunshine
Then I'll be on my way

(I don't know who did it, but I can hear it clearly in my head...)

Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine...
I take a walk, the sun is shining down
Burns my feet as they touch the ground...

Sounds of laughter, here comes sunshine
Smiling faces all around
They possess you, bless you, sunshine
Now you can never let them down,
I say sunshine

I forgot to say that the song is called "Sunshine, Sunshine" and it's by James Taylor.

Jenny Cyphers said...

good bye darkness my old friend
hello sunshine, I want you to be my friend

I think it's called "hello sunshine", it's by Jimmy Cliff

Jenny Cyphers said...

ok, is that the same song as Robin B put up? I'm not sure now, and I'm trying to sing it in my head to see

Jenny Cyphers said...

ok, I just listened to the song and it's not the same one, but I got the words wrong anyway, so oh well.

It is called Hello Sunshine and it says sunshine about every verse several times though...

So let the sunshine in
face it with a grin
smilers never lose
frowners never win
so let the sunshine in
face it with a grin
open up your heart and let the
sunshine in.

I think this was on a kids tape we had way back when my kids were tiny

Good morning to you
Good morning to you
We're all in our places

First grade ceremonial song of my youth

Sandra Dodd said...

Under a sky of azure
Where balmy breezes blow
Kissed by the golden sunshine
Is Nuevo Mejico...
O Fair New MEXico
We love we love you so
Our hearts with pride o'erflow
No matter where we go
O, Fair... New.... MEXico
We love we love you so
No finer state we know
New Mexico!

The state song for a long time, but not anymore because it's nearly impossible to sing and is kinda goofy in full. When we used to hear that The Star Spangled Banner was difficult to sing, we used to kinda laugh, because we could sing "O Fair New Mexico," (SOME of us) and it made the other seem easy.
