More of a chant than a song. A playground taunt from my childhood. If someone said "So?" as many others as wanted to recite this would (and there's a tone and rhythm to it so it's as much song as plainchant, I guess):

So, so suck your toe
All the way to Mexico
Riding on a buffalo

First the farmer sows his seed
Then he stands and takes his ease
Stamps his foot and claps his hand
And turns around to view the land
Oats, peas, beans, and barley grow...

What hurts the most was being so close
And having so much to say
Then watching you walk away

Doe, a deer, a female deer.
Ray, a drop of golden sun.
Me, a name I call myself.
Far, a long, long way to run.
Sew, a needle pulling thread.
La, a note to follow sew.
Tea, a drink with jam and bread.
That will bring us back to doe, oh, oh, oh.

So long, Frank Lloyd Wright

I barely learned the tune

I hadn't thought of that Woody Guthrie song for YEARS, and what a sweet tune it has. I need to sing it for Holly. She's fascinated by the 30's and migrant workers and hobos. Perfect.

SO high you can't get over it
SO low you can't get under it
SO wide you can't get around it
You must go through that door.
