Monday

On a Monday in 1779 (August 9, but that's not the story), Vesuvius erupted. AGAIN!? And it might've made BBC World News, except
1) no photos
2) no phones
3) no BBC
3) American Revolution
4) Spain at war with Britain
5) Bavarian problem involving all the neighbors

So good thing there's a painting, or lots of people would've never known.

I hope your Monday is better!

Come Monday, it'll be alright,
Come Monday, I'll be holding you tight,
It's been four lonely days
In a brown L.A. haze
And I just want you back by my side.

A Monday, a Monday
I really wish you would

Something Italianish thing from the 60's, from a movie?

I thought I was going to have to pass on this one because you guys thought of all the good ones! But then I remembered Ry Cooder...

On a Monday I was arrested.
On a Tuesday I was locked up in jail.

"Cruel War" by Peter, Paul and Mary:

Tomorrow is Sunday, Monday is the day
That your captain will call you, and you must obey.
Your captain will call you, it grieves my heart so,
Won’t you let me go with you? No, my love, no.

Oh, I love that song, Stephen! I hadn't thought of it for years, and I have a daughter who will like it.

They call it stormy Monday
But Tuesday's just as bad...

Eric Clapton, but he didn't write it; it's older, I think

Sandra, that's from "Never on Sunday," it's from a movie that takes place in Greece, I think, from, like you said, the 60s.

I can't think of a song you all haven't covered yet...
