An old album by Mark Lyndsay had a song called "The Old Man at the Fair".
The song was about a man at the fair looking for a beautiful woman with strawberry hair, a woman that I guess he had met there just a little while ago. In the song, he's talking to someone about the woman and about how he has to find her. I can't recall right now the lines with the word "fair" in them, but the ending to the song went something like this:
Or was it a month? Or was it a year? ....
Don't cry, old woman, it's a beautiful day, and you're not bad, for a woman of obvious age, and your hair is such a beautiful strawberry gray ...

Sandra, Hee's the rest of that little ditty I went to the animal fair To see the sights that were there. The big baboon, by the light of the moon, was combing his aubern hair. The monkey, he got drunk and sat on the elephant's trunk. The elephant sneezed and rolled on his knees and that was the end of the monk !

I went to the animal fair
The birds and the beasts were there

Was combing his auburn hair
