I'm leaving an extra round because I'll be gone for three days. I'll put up another word on Monday.

Babe I'm gonna leave you
Leave you when old summer comes along

(Joan Baez sang it, I think)

I know your leaving is too long overdue
For far too long I've had nothing new to show to you
WIth my dry eyes I watch your plane fade off west of the moon
Then it felt so strange, to walk away alone

I guess this is good-bye, old pal.
You've been a perfect friend.
I hate to see us part, old pal.
Someday I'll buy you back;
I'll see you soon again.
I hope that when I do
It won't be on a plate.

I can see the red tail lights heading for Spain
Oh and I can see Daniel waving goodbye

Where are you going, where are you going
Can you take me with you...

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that you're departin'.
I hope that you know I'll always care.
And while my poor feelings are still smartin',
I'm saying good-bye to you with my hair.

And she doesn't know what's coming
But she sure knows what she's leaving behind
And she left a little letter
